Heart - brain coherence
What science says about heart and brain coherence?
Several studies have shown that there is a deep connection between the heart and the brain.
This link, reaching the level of heart brain coherence, is able to ensure greater well-being by improving health and, more generally, the quality of life.
Science has demonstrated that the heart is equipped with a miniature brain consisting of 40,000 nerve cells. Their job is to act as the nerve cells of the brain by using sensory neurites. Both the heart and brain exchange information essential for the health of the organism.
Science has also managed to understand how the human heart is capable of generating a magnetic field in the center of the chest that is 5,000 times higher than the magnetic field of the brain and propagates up to a distance of 3 meters from the person.
Each human being, thanks to the vibrations of the heart, can communicate with the cells of the body. And these communications are interdependent with emotions and thoughts.
It is the exchange of information that determines the quality of the energy diffused in the external environment, eventually influencing it.When we speak of hearth coherence and brain coherence, we refer to a state of equilibrium characterized by the fact that heart and brain are 'in phase', emitting frequencies in total harmony.
When this state is activated, a person can experience greater emotional stability and improved cognitive function.
How to reach heart brain coherence?
It is possible to adopt numerous techniques in order to achieve a level of coherence in the heart. For this to happen, it is necessary:
focusing on the heart
conscious breathing
experiencing a positive feeling (love, joy, and benevolence)
The techniques can be adopted for a few seconds every time a person feels stressed or for five minutes three times a day.
One aspect to consider is that all techniques are easy to apply and share a high degree of efficiency.
When experiencing heart coherence, energy consumption is optimized. Cognitive functions also benefit: increased attention and memory, and improvements in creativity and perception.
Empathic abilities, understanding of information from the outside world, and recognition are also increased.
Through breathing exercises and meditation, it is possible to respond more effectively to stressors.
How much time needed to per day for heart coherence?
Heart coherence can be applied in various contexts. Not only alone during meditation but also with the family, at work, before sports training, during a journey, and in the free moments of the day.
But how much time needed to per day for heart coherence? It only takes a few minutes of practice to achieve coherence. What to do? It was David Servan-Schreibe (one of the first doctors in the Old World to examinate the heart coherence) who divided the cardiac coherence method into 3 stages.
The first stage involves 2 deep, slow breaths. The person must concentrate on the breath, holding it for a few seconds.
In the second stage, attention will shift to the heart. It also involves 2 breaths, and allows the person to feel a sensation of warmth in the chest area. Two breaths are also planned for the last stage. The person should try to visualise a particularly happy moment in their life, or a place or person that made them joyful.
At the end of the last breathing, it will be the smile on the lips that indicates the achievement of cardiac coherence.
